Joseph E. Moeder,

USMC (Ret.)

Lieutenant Colonel Joe Moeder (MAY-DER), United States Marine Corps (Retired), was born on July 3rd, 1954 at Camp Pendleton, California to 1st Lieutenant and Mrs. Joe Moeder, USMC. He grew up in northwest Ohio, was commissioned in June 1976, and retired in November 2001.

Since retiring, Joe was Executive Director and Corporate Rep for ManTech International, heading the entities in Afghanistan and in Europe. Prior to joining ManTech in 2005, Joe was on the staff of the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, serving as the personal protocol officer to the SACEUR. He currently works as a private consultant for international special projects in Europe and the Middle East.

His last active duty assignments were as the Deputy for Special Projects for the Commandant of the Marine Corps in Washington, DC and then as the Aide and Military Assistant to the Deputy Chairman of the NATO Military Committee at NATO Headquarters in Brussels.

His personal military decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, and three awards of the Defense Meritorious Service Medal.

Joe and his family have lived in Belgium for the past 27 years.
